• Regeneron issues a press release with initial results from 400 participants in an ongoing trial of REGEN-COV, a combination of casirivimab and imdevimab used as prevention for COVID-19 among people with a household exposure to the infection. 186 participants were given a 1200 mg infusion of casirivimab and imdevimab; the other 223 received placebo. There were no symptomatic infections among people who got REGEN-COV, versus eight in the placebo group, and the rate of combined symptomatic and asymptomatic infections was 50% lower in the REGEN-COV group (10/186 versus 23/223, 8 of whom fell ill). In addition, people who got REGEN-COV had lower viral loads, suggesting that it could also reduce coronavirus transmission. Source
