• US coronavirus cases exceed 23 million. Source
• After a post-holiday surge, driven in part by the B.1.1.7 variant, Ireland becomes the world’s hardest-hit country, with nearly 8,000 daily cases- and it has instituted a three-month lockdown. Source
• China expands its lockdown to cover 22 million people, adding some districts in Beijing, Langfang, which borders it, and a county in Heilongjiang, a northeastern province. Source
• The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations and PhRMA issue a statement in support of “…adhering to the dosing that has been assessed in clinical trials,” and it “…urges that any changes from the tested and approved vaccine dosing and vaccination schedules for COVID-19 vaccines should follow the science and be based on a transparent deliberation of the available data.” Sources 1,2
