• Moderna announces that it will not enforce patents related to its coronavirus vaccine during the pandemic, amid controversy about ownership of its intellectual property. Public Citizen maintains that the US government has partial rights to Moderna’s vaccine patents. Source
• Regeneron submits a request for EUA for its experimental coronavirus treatment, the monoclonal antibody cocktail, REGN-COV2, which was given to President Trump. Source
• Gilead announces a $1. 2 billion joint procurement agreement with the EU, the European Economic Area and the UK, allowing governments to purchase remdesivir for immediate need and stockpiling over the next six months. WHO reports that Gilead was informed of interim results from the Solidarity Trial (which found no benefit associated with remdesivir) before the procurement agreement. Source 1,2
