• The New York Times analyzed data on breakthrough COVID-19 infections from 40 states, noting that the hospitalization rate among fully vaccinated people ranges from 0.1 percent to 5 percent, and the death rate ranges from 0.2 percent to 6 percent. Overall, unvaccinated people were at least five times more likely to be hospitalized people were, and they were eight times more often to die from COVID-19, although these rates varied significantly by state.
