• The ACT-A announces a global partnership, including the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), FIND, the Global Fund, Unitaid, and WHO, which will make 120 million COVID-19 rapid diagnostic test kits available for a maximum price of $5 each in low- and middle-income countries. • More than 60 prominent researchers and bioethicists send a letter to Pfizer, asking that it impose more rigorous safety standards than those required by FDA for their phase III coronavirus vaccine, and that they delay their EUA application until all study participants have been monitored for at least 60 days after receiving their second vaccine dose.
