Make Medicines Affordable will be at AIDS 2018, 22-28 July. You can find our ‘must see’ events, booths and poster exhibitions listed below, which we’ll either be attending, particpating in or hosting – in relation to increasing access to treatment.
Barriers to essential medicines affect us all, so during the conference we’ll be sharing our experiences and successful strategies to improve the current system, which denies millions of people their right to health.

We’re launching the Pharma Lies app at AIDS 2018.

Intellectual property issues may seem very technical and limited to a narrow group of experts. It is not easy at community level to determine where to start from to develop an effective advocacy strategy. ITPC-MENA developed a community-friendly tool to do a rapid assessment of national laws and policies on IP and their impact on access to medicines. In this session, the Tunisian Association Against AIDS (ATL), who successfully used the tool will share its experience. Ending the AIDS crisis in MENA

Visit the MENA networking zone for a packed programme highlighting the issues affecting key populations and their programmes in MENA in relation to the HIV, including the criminalization of key populations, gender-based violence, intellectual property barriers to access to medicines, the shortage of funding, sustainability, and the lack of research.
